Logo analysis

Logo Analysis:
This logo is very very simple, but effective, it has used the use of bold fonts very well, it portrays the mesage that disabled children also have the ability, and uses a very simple technique to show this message. It also uses very simple colours, but these two colours work well together and are easy on the eye, also emphasising the bold font and the techniques used.

Logo Analysis:
The logo for Prosthetics Outreach Foundation is very simple and effective, it portrays the message that the amputees have a 'piece of the puzzle missing' and i beleive it is meant to show that POF can put them put them back together and make their life better again. I believe it is effective and portrays the message they want, it also ahs very plain but calm colours, straight to the point and asthetically pleasing.

Evaluation of Final Task

For the final task I had to create a website for a chosen charity, either one that already had been made and established or one that i had created. We had to compelte this task using webplus10, and it had to include various types of media such as a video and images. I had to create a navigation bar and also a logo for the website, we looked at logo's that otehr charities and analysed these first. I chose create my own charity called "AmputeesAid" this charity aims to help those who have lsot limbs and provide them with finance to carry on living their life to the full.

Before we even started making the website we had to analyse otehr charity websites and also the logos that some charities had use, there weere many noticeable conventions that were followed by the website that made them clear and easily used websites. These conventions included things like the navigation usually was placed on the top or at the left. We then had to create a few rough designs of our own logo and website so that we could have a small idea of what the original product would be. I incorporated some of the conventions that were used by the other charity websites into my own website, such as the navigation bar sat on the top of the page, just below the fold and the logo/charity name was palced on the top left, i did this so i could grab the attention of the viewer so that they were interested in my website.

At first using webplus10 was reasonably complicated and i had problems making my navigation bar work so that it was easy for viewers to use. After a while of using this programme it became easier and it was very efficient. We used this along side photoshop, in which i created my logo and did my charity title, I gained ltos of knowledge in how to use both programmes coexistently to make an easy and effective website

My website was rying to put accross that the injured people who had been helped by the charity were very happy and were given help by the workers and overcome their loss of a limb, i thin k i did this wel by displaying photographs of amputees doing tasks such as painting, bookwork and also gardening. It showed that they were happy with the help and finance they had been supplied with by the charity. I designed my logo the way it was because it shows a very simple crowd of people with an amputee at the front, by creating this logo i tried to give the impression that amputees with our help were made to feel like they were anonymous again throughout the crowd. I used a video to capture a very brief story of an amputee that had been helped by the charity and placed this on the 'support us' page.

The target audience of my website was any adult above the age of 18+ because i beleived that the charity i had created appealed to all ages. I gave the website a balanced and cool feel using blue to do so, i wanted the website to look even and coordinated without being very bright and outstanding. I believed that the colours did not make the webstie to full on and would not direct people away from the website. I made my final navigation bar very simple. I believed i used imagery well to capture the projects that the charity does, and also the happy expressions of the people who were representing my charity. I made this so that it would attract people to my charity and portray the good work that the charity does. Overall i think decided well on a colour theory.

I gained experience from the whole task and evolved the skills i used in the preliminary task into my final task, such as in the preliminary task i used a navigation bar that was already created and made by Webplus10, whereas on my final task i created the navigation bar myself. Also i learnt about imagery techniques such as eye flow and the rule of thirds etc, this allowed to improve my camera skills. I also learnt alot about the colour theory, because before i had investigated the colour theory on my preliminary task, my website design colours were very ugly and did not flow well together at all, but after lookign at the colour theory i decided on different colours that made it much more appealing and also gave it a smoother look.

If i were to distribute my website, my main tactic would be to use search engines such as google, Yahoo and Ask, this would be the best way to get my website out there and known by people, using key words that automatically make my website come up, this is called metatagging. Making it easier to find my website. Other ways i could use are other forms of media such as television channels and charity events such as Children In Need. I feel if these things were used it would help get recognition and also more donations.

In conclusion, if i were given the chance to remake my final site, i would make alot of changes, making the logo and video media alot moer complicated, i would of also added more to the site, as i now feel it lacks with the use of only single photos on pages etc. I would also make my navigation alot more stylish, as now it is very simple, whereas my original design showed the navigation bar to be much more complicated and asthetically pleasing, by using rollover and addign fades behind the writing to give it a glow effect. But all-in-all i beleive i have developed my skills and produced a website that is easy to use, asthetically pleasing and informative, as i aimed it to be.

Finished Web Pages

Below are my completed pages of my website, these include the home page, about us page, contact page, support us page, and also the 'AmputeesAid' page. Each page has atleast one photograph and the Support us page also has a short video clip. Although a picture of my About us page is missing, i will upload one shortly as i cannot access one at this moment.

The 'AmputeesAid' page:
This page displays a brief message, it is the last page of my website, and it is thanking the viewers for their donations and their generousity towards the charity.

The Support us page:
This page gives a small piece of information and the text is made to persuade the viewers to donate to the charity, it displays a picture of the work some of the 'amputees' do.

The Contact us page:
Gives the viewers information on how to contact the charity, this number is false and completely made up.

The Home page:
I made the homepage very simple, making sure that it was not too full of information and too gruelling to get through before the viewers have reacher the other pages, i also thought as an introduction it would be wise to display two images rather than just the one that the other pages display.

Final Task Introduction

For the final task we are required to desing and construch a website using 'Web Plus 10' this programme allows a user to add media such as images, videos, audio samples and also links to another website.

For the final task I decided to construct a website that is a charity that is made for Amputees who have suffered from losing a limb, I decided to call the website "AmputeesAid"

Research and planning:

What is the website’s purpose?
The purpose of my final task website is to bring to the attention of the public the case of people who have been unlucky enough to lose a limb, and need help with financing neccesseties such as prosthetic limbs and vital operations. It is aimed to encourage people to donate to the chairty. This will include information about how the money is being used and how the donatiosn that they have given are helping the amputees we support.

Who are the audience of the website? The audience of the public is adults above the age of 18+, because this age group is most likely to donate and have be earning income, It is also aimed at anyone who has ever known and been close to amputee, to show that there is something they can do to help.

What does the website have to do to communicate? The website has to be informative, to communicate information about the charity, what they do and how they use the resources donated. To a certain extent the website is aimed to persuade and encourage the website to donate to the cause that the charity is promoting

What will the personality of the website be? The personality will be formal and rather serious, because the website is for a very serious cause and will need to portray that in it's layout, and it will be taken more seriously if the layout is formal.
